Diet Basics from Schmeg.com

Make dieting simpler by sticking to the basics....

The modern diet with it's reliance on refined, processed foods is greatly responsible for the drastic increase in obesity related ailments

I try to stick to these "diet basics" while on my current and longest sustained diet.

  • I ride my exercise bike for 20-30 minutes per day. Revs up the metabolism for 4-12 hrs.
  • I personally hold off eating for as long as I can, usually 'til lunch. I am a late riser (about 8am) so adjust accordingly.
  • I make the lunch meal my main meal of the day; a wheat bread sandwich or a plate of food, no more.
  • I eat as many apples, bananas, oranges as I want.
  • Stay away from cereals and other refined flours and sugars
  • Nibble a few items at night.

I have been doing this for a week and have lost 5 lbs. I have had a bad day, but I don't sweat it. It's the overall calorie intake that I lowered significantly
