My
hair looks, at times, like I just stuck my finger in a light
socket- all frizzed and crazed looking. I have tried various chemical
applications to no avail. I started looking into these new ceramic
flat irons, especially the Sedu brand. Here is my review:
How
times have changed; Up until recently, chemicals were the only way
to tame curly hair and that was with limited success. Well, all of
that has changed thanks to ceramic flat iron technology that turns
even the most unmanageable curly hair into shiny, gorgeous, straightened
styles.
Sedu, along with a few other flat iron mfgs., uses ceramic plates
infused with tourmaline to make their irons. Ceramic is a fire-hardened
clay that is adsorbent (it actually attracts moisture)- the tourmaline
greatly increases this quality. When the plates are heated , the
internal pressures of the plates force it's moisture into anything
absorbable, i.e. hair. The plates are extremely smooth so as to
prevent snags. Well, enough of the technicals, here's my feelings
on the Sedu after 2 months of using it--
I
love it. I've used and return many brands of flat iron but never
one that can compare to this. It used to take me 45 minutes, that's
on a good day, to blow dry my hair and straighten it. Now, all I
do is go to bed with my hair wet, wake up with my hair all wild
and dry, and then straighten it all in 15-20 minutes. This flat
iron leaves my hair silky, very shiny, and SUPER straight
I
think the best combination of products for fabulous movie star/commercial
looking hair is the SEDU and "Textureline Frizz Repair"
drops (available at most salons for 15 dollars or so).
