I know I was. Keep dreaming. I probably purchased over $5000 worth of e-books, software, systems and supposed money making programs over the course of a year. Every time I saw a good sales letter it was like my hand was drawn to my wallet and I couldn't help but open it and spend my hard earned cash. Oh well, you live and learn I guess. Every single "This is the last $50 you will ever spend, you will be rich tomorrow..." programs turned out to be a complete waste of time (and money!).

When you were a kid what did you like to do? What did you want to be when you grew up? Did you ever realize those dreams? If not, are you still interested in the same things you were as a child? And no, I don't mean ponies and ice cream!! When I was 10 I wanted to be an astronaut, and to this day I still have an interest in anything in the aerospace industry. Think about it!
What types of magazines do you read? What types of articles within those magazines are you drawn to? What is your favorite past time? Reading? Writing? Crafting? Mowing the Lawn? Finally, if you could pick one thing to do all day, what would it be?

It is far more important to be passionate about the business you are in, than for it to be a "Great Opportunity". If you are in a business that pays you really well, but you hate doing it, how long will it really last? Whereas if you love what you are doing, you will want to keep doing it more and more, making you a far greater success than if you were just getting paid well.

Once you have identified your passion, look at products and services that are already offered in the marketplace. Is there a DS (direct sales) company that offers the products and services you are passionate about? Dropship companies for you to start your own online store? Can you make your products yourself?

It truly is all about products. If there were no products, there would be no businesses. Products are the heart of all businesses. Don't answer any business opportunity ads that just claim you will make money and don't have to sell anything. If you aren't selling products, then it is an illegal pyramid scheme, and you will not make any money.

Also check your area, and online for market saturation. If your market is highly saturated with vendors, your business may not do as well. Try to find a "niche" market. Something that is in high demand, but there is not a lot available. Do your research, and it will pay off.
